Your own domain (URL)

Smoobu provides you with a tool that facilitates the creation of your website for your vacation rental properties. But maybe, you already have your own domain (URL) and want to use it to make your new Smoobu website as good as possible? Because let's face it, sunsetapartments.com sounds better than sunsetapartments.bookingturbo.com. While it is not an "astronomical science" to build the link between your domain and the Smoobu website, it might be a little bit of a challenge.

There's 2 main steps:

Add the Smoobu DNS record to your domain provider

1. Log in to your domain host, go to the domain management area, and find the DNS editing options.
2. Create a new CNAME record with the following settings:
   • Host/​Alias: www
   • Destination/​Target: s.eu-multiscreensite.com
3. Point the root of your domain (domain.com) to your website. To do this, create two A records with the following settings:
   • First
     • Host/​Alias: @
     • Destination/​Target: 18.197.248.23
   • Second
     • Host/​Alias: @
     • Destination/​Target: 52.59.120.70

Add your domain in Smoobu

Have you added the DNS record to your provider? Cool! You're almost done. Now go to the basics of the website construction kit. Settings - Website builder .

Enter your URL (in our example: sunsetapartments.com) in the field "Own URL". Click on save. Make sure the "Public site" button is enabled. This is easy to identify at the bottom of the page - it should be green.

Starting now, the link will take between 30 minutes and 2 hours to be ready. Your SSL certificate will also be issued and your site will be considered secure.
